Christmas Gifts

One of the great things about being part of the Scotch community is getting to know other enthusiasts.  Enthusiasts are better than experts.  They enjoy what they do, and they want you to enjoy it as well.  Several weeks ago DC Scotch Chick was contacted by such an enthusiast over at ForScotchLovers.com.  One of his favorite malts is Laphroaig, and he noticed that the Chix did not have a review of it on their site.

Not only did this Gent suggest and ask us to review it, he sent DC Scotch Chick a bottle.  Not a sample bottle, but a whole bottle.  I mention this because not only was it incredibly generous but also for disclosure purposes.  The Chix don't want their readers to think we are biased toward one scotch or another simply because it was given as a gift.  So for those of you who read what CA Scotch Chick was drinking over the holidays (see her Highland Park 30 post), now it's time for DC Scotch Chick to share her review.  The Laphroaig was much smoother than she expected it to be.  It definitely has a peaty smell and taste but it's a very balanced malt and it grows on you. Try it on its own (no food accompaniment) first, and get to know it. It's worth the relationship.

Please see DC Scotch Chick's Tasting Notes below.
