The Scotch Chix started off their weekend of single malt decadence with a trip to the Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton, Maryland. Although the Royal Mile Pub can be reached by taking the DC Metro Red Line all the way to the end and then walking another five minutes, DC Scotch Gent agreed to act as the designated driver. Consequently, the DC Scotch Couple swooped down on the CA Scotch Couple's hotel at that wholly suitable hour for imbibing, 10:00 am, and the Scotch Couples presented themselves at the door of the Royal Mile Pub for its opening.

The Royal Mile Pub has a very comfortable, pub-like atmosphere. It sports a good scotch list, with a little under a hundred single malt whiskys. It also has a pretty decent pub menu. The Scotch Chix and CA Scotch Gent each ordered a different single malt whisky to make up a little mini-flight of three they could all share: Glen Goyne 18, Glenmorangie Nectar D'or, and Highland Park 25. And, since food was in order that early in the day, the pub menu got some pretty heavy play.

Service was attentive. The whisky arrived before the food, and our tasters went right to work. The Glen Goyne 18 and Glenmorangie Nectar D'or were quite good, and the Highland Park 25 was sublime. We've post Scotch Chix Reviews below. The food, which was much needed, arrived as we were finishing our tasting - perfect timing, and it was plentiful and tasty.

The Scotch Chix left the Royal Mile Pub with happy tummies and nice scotch glows. It was overall a very satisfying experience and a great start to the weekend.
