Adieu, Québec City

La Fresque du Petit-Champlain

And so, Loyal Scotch Chix Fans, we bid a fond "Farewell" to a lovely week in Québec City. The CA Scotch Couple had a fantastic time. Québec City is a beautiful place, full of pleasant people and incredible food.

The CA Scotch Couple only got to about a third of their planned itinerary. Among the Field Trips that were scheduled but not executed were numerous restaurants that have been receiving high praise on the web: Laurie Raphaël, Toast, le Patriarch and l'Utopie, as well as two whisky establishments: Bar St-Angèle just off the beaten track in Upper Old Town and Pub Dunn across from the train station.

Bar St-Angèle is a small establishment with a solid little whisky menu the choices of which were influenced heavily by Mr. Tattieheid, one of CA Scotch Chick's friends on the Whisky Mag Forum. Alas, it was only open from eight o'clock on, and CA Scotch Chick either had other engagements at that time or was tucked up in bed.

Pub Dunn, also suggested by Mr. Tattieheid, is reputed to have the most extensive whisky menu in town. Unfortunately, the CA Scotch Couple did not get to it early in the trip, and by the third or fourth day, they were practicing various ways of lamenting to each other in French about how much their feet hurt. They simply could not face the walk down and back up the hill.

They did make it back to Chez Ashton two more times, and they could have returned for many more meals of poutines. There simply wasn't enough time. In fact, there was so much to see, do and eat in Québec City that the CA Scotch Couple are already planning another trip – sooner rather than later. À bientôt!
