The Chix timing could not have been more perfect. Just two days before CA Scotch Chix was set to arrive and commence the Glenrothes ménage à trois, Whisky Magazine's Issue #72 hit the stands with their own Glenrothes write up. 

While the Whisky Mag experts were worrying about the scarcity of several vintages and limiting the number of bottles in each tasting, the Chix were busy tasting the more available selections as a service to the Loyal Scotch Chix Fans. Although the Chix admit it would be nice to raid someone else's private stock, they settled on three bottles that can be located at any liquor store with a reputable single malt selection. So ... on the tasting table: Glenrothes Select Reserve, Glenrothes 1991, Signatory Glenrothes Un-Chillfiltered 1994. 

Hands down, the Chix and their guests preferred the 1991, particularly with a drop of water. Butterscotch, a bit of acid, and some fruit were scattered across the three. But ... overall, the Glenrothes sisters were a disappointment. The Scotch Chix were anticipating a weekend of sensual experiences, but the three Glenrothes Girls simply did not turn us on. They were lethargic and lacked the depth of experience the Chix anticipated. While adding a drop of water to each improved the flavor, no Cinderella emerged.

In order to better understand their performance, the Chix set up the Glenrothes Girls against Highland Park 12 in a side by side tasting. The results were revealing - the shallowness of the Glenrothes Girls really stood out when compared with the multi-faceted Highland Park 12. 

The Scotch Chix realize that there is a huge Glenrothes following out there, and we would like to emphasize that the Glenrothes Girls were not necessarily poor performers. Alas, they simply weren't as exciting as we had anticipated.
